New Facebook Scam is Really Nothing New

In case you didn’t hear, there’s “new” scam out there involving Facebook and other social networking sites.


It’s the old “your friend is in trouble” scam – and I doubt it will go very far. The way it works is, a scammer hacks into your Facebook account and then sends status updates to your friends and/or relatives, using the internal Facebook messaging system, telling them that you’re “in trouble” (maybe locked in a jail cell in Canada?) — and that they need to wire some money to help get you out.

Can a tagline really generate more business for you? The city of Las Vegas thinks so.They think by changing their tagline they will drive the tourists back. How silly. With the economy the worst it’s been in nearly 30 years, and with “recession proof” industries like gambling suffering this time around, Vegas is hurting for business. Bailout $$$ Will Hurt Marketing

The blogosphere and much of the mainstream media is roiling over news that Bank of America—fresh from receiving $45 billion in bailout funds—sponsored the National Football League’s pre-Super Bowl NFL Experience for $10 million, a five-day event featuring 850,000 square feet of games and interactive entertainment.
