The Big Easy Mark

It’s the night before the ACCM show begins and my coworkers Jim, Tim and I are walking down Bourbon St. An official-looking guy pops out of nowhere and sternly announces he has to give Tim a ticket for “not partying enough.”


He glances at me and then says he has to give Tim another citation for traveling with an underage girl. Then he asks Jim if he is my bodyguard. more

ACCM: You Wish You Were Here

So, do you regret not attending ACCM? Let me tell you, Day Two just started here in New Orleans, and I haven’t heard a negative word yet. Especially when it came to the content and delivery of the Monday intensives.


How good in the show so far? One attendee told me last night she was going to stay away from Bourbon Street she she can be refreshed and ready to go for the 8:30 a.m. sessions. Now that says a lot, especially since this is a city known for its partying. more

Live From ACCM: So a Pig Walks Into a Bar…

OK, it’s not a bad joke, and infection diseases are no laughing matter. But L-Com director of marketing Mary Ann Kelinfelter said the Swine Flu outbreak can teach even merchants a lesson.


The Egyptian government has called for the cull of its entire pig population, even though there have been no cases of the Swine Flu reported int he country. more

I came across a good article on advertising during a recession. It talks about how companies can grow during a downturn and how companies like GM, General Electric, Ford, Exxon Mobile and others were started during poor economic times.


The part of the piece I most enjoyed, however, was when they mentioned Hyundai Motors America and how they have grown in this recession. Their VP of marketing said: “And consumers look at us differently because of the offer.” more
