For some reason, I am more excited than I have been in quite some time about the DMA in Boston next week. Perhaps it’s because I get to go to a favorite city of mine, have the chance to “mingle” and visit with some of the best marketing minds in the universe and get to see people I don’t see nearly enough.
This year’s conference looks to be a great one, even with me included in the speaker’s line up! I hope we can connect on Monday or Tuesday, and please feel to reach out and say “Hi,” even if we haven’t met yet.
Mike’s Pastries, here I come.
If you love “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which millions of people do, you just may start to buy Tide laundry products, if you don’t already do.

But after once again receiving three identical copies of J&P’s holiday catalog last week, I don’t feel bad about calling out the plants/gift mailer on it. more
As a card carrying fangirl, I can tell you most assuredly that a sense of wonder isn’t the only thing comic book fans share with young children. We also like our routines, and when you upset them, we can get very cranky.
One of our major routines, of course, is New Comic Book Day. (Or as the less enlightened refer to it, “Wednesday.”) When something mucks it up (Curse you Monday holidays that defer shipping a day!!!!!), we no like.
For customers at Ann Arbor, MI who have a pull list with the shop Vault of Midnight, part of that routine is getting an email notifying them which books they subscribe to came in that week. When the system had a hiccup recently, the shop crafted a clever email—subject lined “Technical Lameness”—that spoke perfectly in the audience’s language.
