Ken Magill

Direct's Ken Magill has the distinction of being called a jerk and worse by more readers than any writer on staff. Why? Because he can be a jerk. But he can also occasionally be funny. So we keep him around. He also has the dubious distinction of writing about e-mail marketing as long as anyone—since 1996. Never afraid to offend, Magill covers the good, the bad, and the just plain ugly of e-mail marketing. Many marketers read his columns just to make sure they’re not in them. Many also read his columns hoping their competitors will be in them. Magill also has an unhealthy relationship with vodka martinis and sometimes it’s apparent in his work.
