NCDM is over. Most of the attendees have left the greater Orlando area already, some of us are hanging on for another day of warm weather (and awoke to gray skies and a chance of rain).

Everyone is going to complain about a conference they just attended, even of it’s only one thing that’s bothering them. My complaints had to do with not having enough time to hit every single session (and you know what, that’s impossible anyway). Want to know how I spent my day Thursday, other than having some medical tests done and bringing the puppy to the vets for her latest shots? Sending this e-mail reply to at least a half a dozen people in the public relations field:

“Hi [name], I have not covered [the industry and/or beat] for at least three years now. Can you please remove me from your distribution list? Thank you.” more

List firms are singing the blues, and that’s quite understandable with merchants and non profits cutting back on prospecting.

But I just checked out the Multichannel Merchant mail bin and saw where at least two list firms can save some money… by not mailing us press releases. And one brokerage it appears may be throwing money down the drain.
